Aerial footage is only worth having if it was shot legally. We hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate — the credential the FAA requires for any commercial drone flight in the United States.
Plenty of crews fly commercially without one. It's more common than you'd think, and it puts the risk on you as much as on them. We'd rather that never came up.
Beyond the certificate, the practical difference is airspace. Much of Charlotte sits inside controlled airspace near the airport, which means flights there need authorisation before they happen. We request and clear that through LAANC ahead of the shoot, so a location near the tower isn't a dead end.
Aerial work is rarely the whole job. It's usually one part of a brand film or commercial — an establishing shot, a site overview, a piece of scale you can't get from the ground.

What is FAA Part 107?
It's the Federal Aviation Administration rule governing commercial drone flight in the United States. Anyone flying a drone for business purposes is required to hold a Remote Pilot Certificate under it.
Can you fly near Charlotte Douglas airport?
Much of that area is controlled airspace, which requires authorisation rather than being outright forbidden. We request clearance through LAANC in advance. Some locations are genuinely restricted, and we'll tell you early if yours is one.
Do you need permission to film over private property?
Access and permissions for a location are the client's responsibility under our terms. We'll tell you what's needed and plan the flight around whatever access you're able to arrange.
